When one of the best rooftop bars in London invited us to check out their new Winter Terrace I just couldn’t resist. The Terrace is set up on the sixth floor of One New Change, overlooking St Paul's. The vibe as soon as we walked in was bustling with heavy bass music entertaining the young, professional rooftop crowd.
We were shown to our table - a very cosy corner spot filled with faux fur blankets, fluffy cushions, and mood lighting. We got so comfortable we found it difficult to move, and to get the evening going we started with their 'Terrace Mulled Wine' - a thick & warming, deliciously fruity mulled wine. We were then offered two of Madison’s special warming winter cocktails:
The first was the Apple Pie Martini which consisted of CIROC Vodka, Vanilla, Apple Schnapps and apple juice. This warming, festive cocktail was incredibly sweet but light and tasted exactly like apple pie with an alcoholic kick - thoroughly enjoyable! I then tried the 'Spiced Chocolate' - a delicious, indulgent beverage contained Sailor Jerry and Dark chocolate with coconut rum. I would definitely recommend as more of a dessert or treat as it was quite heavy – not one for those watching the calories.
The food on offer was amazing and possibly some of the best nibbles going. They were a selection of Spicy buttermilk chicken, Comté & truffle arrancini (spinach fritters) Baked Scallops and one of my favourite guilty pleasures -truffle fries.
The views at Madison of St Pauls and the city are just stunning. I would recommend you check out The Winter terrace before it closes- 28th February - especially if you’re after a cosy venue with a chilled atmosphere and a warming drink or two.
