London Fashion Week: Alexandra Long

One of the most innovative presentations that I attended this year at Fashion week was the Alexandra Long Presentation and Party - Enigma part 2.

The event was hosted at the historical Churchill War Rooms - the secret World War Two bunker and museum in Westminster. This was the first time the venue had hosted a women's fashion event.

The models were wearing elegant pieces and presented as though they were part of the museum.

This jumpsuit from Enigma part 2 was timelessly elegant.

The models showcased the luxe silk and cotton-blended pieces at the party after the presentation.

Familiar faces attended: Daniel Lismore Creative Director of Sorapol.

The World War Two theme continued throughout the night.

A live band provided 1940s themed music that added to the ambience.

The party then continued fittingly at the glamorous Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone (my regular haunt) where fashion designer Emilia Wickstead famously designed the uniforms for the hostesses. A designer that no doubt played a part in the inspiration behind the Enigma collection, as Alexandra Long once worked in her studio.

To top off the evening Chilterns espresso martinis with gin (as opposed to vodka) were a delightful discovery.
